Bullet notes from a lecture by Dr. NY. + Tune to proposal reader + Get to the main point at the beginning - Goal: As the first sentence, show the big picture, e.g. advance the field. + Objective - Make it measurable, specific, focused, e.g. having just one or two points. - Do not use generic words like design or develop. Better choices are like improve, test, account for, etc. + Task - Make clear and straightforward alignment with objective. - Make sure the tasks are practical for the proposed period. - Define the subtasks and deliverables. + Factorial - Several items to include: publication, existing research, letter of support, explained unique capabilities. - Visuals are terrific for research plan and knowledge tree. + Literature review - Identify the knowledge gap in the form of a story. + Teaching plan - Develop with the same idea as the research plan. - Use statistics to explain the impact. - Be specific and relatable to PM
